You've each entered the game with a friend on the other tribe. In the past when we’ve done a second chance season with new players, we partner them together. Meaning, they can talk to each other across tribal lines (because as you have noticed, your friend is on a separate tribe from you).
There's one incentive to work with your partner as long as possible: The last partnership standing receives Immunity Talismans which can be used up to and through the final 5. They must be played at the beginning of Tribal Council.
This season you are entering the game with a built-in friendship. You, as always, will be able to communicate with your friend across tribal lines. As always, whom your friend is will remain a mystery to everyone else as long as you would like it to.
The difference this season is that your friend will not be your partner. Your partner will be selected now at random, and will be made public.
