Stranded in Portugal

First of all, sorry.

Let me offer a bit of explanation:

I was disappointed to hear that this season of stranded was to start on June 26th as it was the night before I left on my only vacation that I have taken in years.

I went to rural North Carolina, and stayed in a cabin on the Appalachian Trail. I thought about quitting and letting someone else take my spot, but was assured by my friend that I could make it work, especially if I had my cellular to use for communication.

Issues:
My battery life sucks in my phone so for the sake of the game i ordered a $40 replacement battery and swapped it out into my iphone 5 the day before I left. Well due to me being a dumbass I ruined the q3 chip with pry damage and toasted the phone completely.

I was under the impression that I was going to have internet access which ended up not being true. So i drove 30 min to a coffee shop a few times to remain linked in. I missed the first challenge because i read that it was 9ET but turned out to be 8ET. Damn

I was stuck in traffic on IN-65 for 90 mins yesterday and missed the next one too. I am embarrassed. I totally deserved to be booted.

At least you got a holiday in. How were the Appalachians? (idk Murica, I assume that is a mountain range) Did you get much walking in or is it not that type of holiday?

Brenda: Yea its an east-coast mountain range. I had an amazing time. Went there with my (soon to be) fiance, and did a lot of hiking, running trails, cliff jumping etc. It was in North Carolina, and we made the trip into Asheville, which is an incredibly beautiful little city.

Too bad we couldn't have won one of the first challenges, I could have possibly survived!
